
Transfer students are a welcome addition to Mount St. Mary’s University. Transfer students are eligible for admission for either the fall or spring semester. The Mount has articulation agreements with Frederick Community College, Hagerstown Community College, and Harrisburg Area Community College. *New for 2009-2010* - AA Degree Transfer Core Curriculum

Mount St. Mary’s is committed to helping those students who have received their Associate’s Degree from a community college graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in two years. Each student will be assigned an academic advisor to help the student plan the remaining two-year course of study. Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honors Scholarship - $2,500 per year -Awarded to incoming full-time transfer students who are Phi Theta Kappa members. The PTK Scholarship is in addition to any Merit Scholarship a transfer student may receive. Free Books -Awarded to all AA degree students for four semesters. Students must transfer from a community college with their AA degree to qualify. Transfer students should submit all application materials by June 1st for fall semester and by December 1st for spring semester. Generally, transfers should have a minimum cumulative grade average of a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, although each application is reviewed individually. An application for transfer admission should include: $35.00 application fee Final official copy of your secondary school transcript (waived for those out of high school for 10 or more years) Official transcript from all colleges or universities attended At least one recommendation from a professor who taught you an academic course during the last two academic years.
The Mount awards selected full-time transfer students a variety of academic scholarships worth up to $8,000 annually. Our PTK Scholarship (see above) is awared in addition to these academic scholarships. These awards are offered to students who have demonstrated a high level of performance during their academic careers.
