Think a private university is out of your reach? Think again! Most families at Mount St. Mary's receive a wide variety of financial aid, including scholarships and grants, that significantly reduces the cost of attending the Mount. Last year, more than $30 million was awarded to Mount students, with an average freshman award of $17,925.
The Mount continues its commitment to making college affordable for students and their families. Every year we support more than 95 percent of Mount families with financial aid. In addition to need-based aid, the university awards numerous academic scholarships, ranging from $5,000 to full tuition. (Admissions applications are automatically reviewed for these merit awards.) Our Admissions Committee makes its decisions without reference to any application for aid.
The chart below illustrates how the Mount assisted students and their families with scholarships, grants and other financial aid.
