In order to be considered for need-based financial aid, undergraduate students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You are encouraged to complete the FAFSA applications online. If you are not able to apply online, instructions on how to obtain a paper application follow.
Students who wish to make the Financial Aid Office aware of special circumstances, including a change of income from the FAFSA form, parents' separation/divorce, unusually high medical expensesss paid out of pocket, and/or elementary/high school tuition expenses for younger siblings, should complete the appropriate appeals form and submit it to the Financial Aid Office.
The University's priority deadline to receive both applications is March 1. In order to meet this deadline, families should submit their FAFSA not later than February 15. Maryland residents must file the FAFSA so that it is received by March 1 to be eligible for state funds.

Download a paper application or call 1-800-4FEDAID to request that an application be mailed to you. The paper form must be completed and mailed to the processing center. Processing time for paper FAFSA's can be up to 3-4 weeks; thus, you should submit the form no later than February 1.
