Assistant Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University invites outstanding teacher-scholars to apply for a tenure track appointment in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Assistant Professor level starting in the fall of 2015.  This new position will fulfill the vision of Richard J. Bolte, Sr. who was a life-long supporter of the Mount and its mission of excellence in education and who founded BDP International, a global logistics company.  The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline (ABDs near completion will be considered) and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the campus community.  The search committee will also consider candidates with extensive work experience and a Master’s degree in the above disciplines for a non-tenure-track position.

The new faculty member will direct and teach in the Bolte School’s graduate certificate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.  He/she will also teach a new required course in the undergraduate business program entitled Operations and Supply Chain Management.  The Bolte School is dedicated to providing graduates with a solid foundation in analysis and ethical decision-making using a variety of interactive techniques such as cases, simulations, and other experiential learning activities.  The faculty member may also contribute to the Mount’s common education experience by teaching the Veritas Symposium (Veritas 101 - Being Human:  The Catholic Liberal Arts Symposium).  Successful candidates will share our commitment to the dignity and solidarity of all persons and the value of intercultural understanding.

Mount St. Mary’s University, the second oldest Catholic university in America, seeks faculty members eager to engage and support our Catholic identity.  Application materials should discuss how you might contribute to the University’s Catholic liberal arts mission, how your work engages with the Catholic intellectual tradition, or how your own faith tradition informs your vocation as teacher and scholar.  Please send cover letter and vita to resume@msmary.edu or to Dr. Karl W. Einolf, Dean, Bolte School of Business.  Initial interviews will be conducted at the Decision Sciences Institute’s Annual Meeting in Tampa (November 22-25, 2014) or over the phone.  Applicant review will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.
