Assistant Professor of Economics (Job Search Status: Currently Accepting Resumes)
The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University invites outstanding teacher-scholars to apply for a tenure track appointment in Economics at the Assistant Professor level starting in the fall of 2013. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline (ABDs near completion will be considered) and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the campus community. He/she will teach Principles of Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Money and Banking. He/she will also be responsible for coaching and teaching the Mount’s Federal Reserve Challenge Team. The Fed Challenge is an intercollegiate competition sponsored by the Federal Reserve System in which student teams discuss current economic conditions and present their case for monetary policy to Federal Reserve economists. The Bolte School is dedicated to providing graduates with a solid foundation in analysis and ethical decision-making using a variety of interactive techniques such as cases, simulations, and other experiential learning activities. In addition to courses within the economics and business major, the faculty member may also contribute to the Mount’s common education experience by teaching the Veritas Symposium (Veritas 101 - Being Human: The Catholic Liberal Arts Symposium).
