Assistant Director of Recreational Services/Intramural/Club Sports Coordinator (Job Search Status: Currently Accepting Resumes)


DESCRIPTION: 

The Assistant Director of Recreational Services/Intramural/Club Sports Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Director of Recreational Services and is primarily responsible for working and assisting in a comprehensive intramural, club sports and recreation program.

MAJOR TASKS:

Assist in overall planning, organizing and supervising of the intramural and club sport program (men, women & co-rec) that includes team sports, individual and dual activities, and special events. Person serves as point person in the department for summer camps and clinics. Directly responsible for approximately 40 student employees who are employed in the IM/Club Sport programs. Position will also include supervising some evening and weekend programs, as well as some special events. Minimal involvement in facility operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management or related field; 1-2 years experience in collegiate recreational sports programming; evidence of experience in programming and promoting intramural sports activities; recruiting/training intramural officials/supervisors; working with a club sports program and basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Sports Management or related field; experience working in a college setting; and certification in CPR/FA.

SALARY:  $30,420 for a twelve month contract (July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013). The contract is renewable each year.
