Office of Information Technology


The Department of Information Technology supports the mission and vision of the University by providing innovative and cost-effective technological solutions with high quality customer service to enhance the teaching and learning experience for students, faculty and staff.

OIT is comprised of several departments including:

Chief Information Officer

The CIO oversees all aspects of technology at the University including implementing a strategic vision for technology initiatives and developing IT solutions for the university's future.

Applications

Maintains and supports the administrative software for Admissions, Registration, Business Office (Accounts Payable and Receivable, General Ledger, Purchasing) of the University.

Maintains and oversees the transfer of data to the Portal, Moodle, Symplicity, MountCard and Millennium systems on campus.  Most ad hoc reporting and processing of student information originates from Applications

Center for Instructional Technology

CIT is a service operated by Mount staff and trained student personnel that answers questions, resolves problems and provides support to students, faculty and administrative staff regarding the campus computer network, audio-visual needs and telecommunications system. Media Systems

Provide overall planning and management of audio visual systems for the University as well as coordinate auxiliary group use of media services.

Networking

Designs and maintains the wired and wireless infrastructure.  Includes but not limited to Email, cloud services (Citrix and Office 365), server and desktop virualization, file and print services, SQL databases, Sharepoint, data archiving, intrusion prevention and various other server services.

Designs and maintains the communciations infrastructure including the digital Voice Over IP (VoIP) and Voicemail system, Verizon phone circuits, fiber and copper infrastructure, analog phone systems (fax, credit card machines, fire alarms, emergency phones, etc.)
