Short Term Excursions
The following study abroad opportunities last one to two weeks.
“Experiencia Patagonia” is a 300-level Spanish course that begins in the Fall where you experience what you have learned in the classroom by taking a two week trip to that very region in January! Experience “gauchos” by actually visiting an “estancia” or the history of the tango by going to a tango show. The course is offered every other Fall, with the trip taking place in the first two weeks of January. Open to all students, even those with no Spanish knowledge.
In a 3-credit course offered by the Business Department, students spend classroom time at the Mount learning about history, economics, business climate, culture and some Russian language. During Fall or Spring break, students travel to Russia for a 10-day Russian experience. Several days are spent sightseeing in Moscow, while the bulk of the trip is spent at South Ural State University (SUSU), a school in the city of Chelyabinsk. Mount students team up with SUSU students for classroom experience and cultural exchange.
