Graduation Procedure and Forms
Mount St. Mary's awards degrees three times during the academic year: September, December and May. The commencement ceremony is held in May. Students who graduate in September or December have the option of participating in the May ceremony.
To begin the graduation process, all students must submit an Intent to Graduate form to the Registrar's Office. This form provides our office with accurate student information and allows us to review each student's academic records to determine eligibility to graduate. The review also provides each student with an opportunity to complete any degree requirements they may have overlooked during their time at Mount St. Mary's.
The Intent to Graduate form is available online. The form must be submitted to the Registrar's Office by the appropriate deadline listed below. Students who do not submit the form by the deadline are not eligible to graduate until the following graduation date.
- July 15 for September graduation
- August 31 for December graduation
- August 31 for May graduation
All students are invited to participate in the May commencement ceremony. Undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 99 credits at the end of the fall term will be eligible to participate in the ceremony the following May.
