Wednesdays At The Fountain


 

Wednesday nights in 2012 will be as hot as ever as music starts back up this summer on the McGowan patio by the fountain. Take an evening break. Relax with friends and grab something to eat at the Mount Cafe while listening to some of the hottest musicians in the region. No charge. In the event of inclement weather, we will move indoors to the Mount Cafe.  So Come Rain or Come Shine, and don't miss Wednesdays at the Fountain!

Free and open to the public! Bring a blanket or chair. 8-10:00 PM on the McGowan patio by the fountain outside of the Mount Cafe, Main Campus. 

NOTE: The Mount is an alcohol-free campus: no alcoholic beverages allowed.

May 30  - Chris Vadala with Rick Whitehead Trio              Jazz
Expect high energy and much creativity when Chris
Vadala and the Rick Whitehead Trio play together for you!The Rick Whitehead Trio performs a wide range of music ranging from ballads, blues, bop, and Latin, to high-energy fusion.   One of the country's foremost woodwind artists and formerly with Chuck Mangione, Chris is in demand as a Jazz/Classical performer. The four performers singularly and collectively have received much accolade and following.  Don't miss this performance.

June 6 - Anita Thomas Quartet       Jazz
A native of Sydney, Australia, Anita has performed various genres of music all over the world. She has played for musical theater and stage shows with swing groups, big band and various local and international artists performing jazz, rock, blues, and gospel. Now a Maryland local, Anita gives private lessons and performs regularly with her own jazz quartet. July 11 - We're About 9 Trio       Folk 

We’re About 9 brings complex vocal harmonies and unique, poignant songs to an upbeat, fun show. You may have seen them on the main stage of a folk festival (Falcon Ridge, Kerrville, Clearwater), played the 60-second movie synopsis game, stayed awake on a plane, made it to Albany, sang all of the body parts you could spell with three letters, or concatenated with We’re About 9.  http://circanine.com/

The Mount's Director of Music Ministry, Judd Bolger, and his sister, Maggie, performed last summer to our largest audience of the season!  Come hear Judd and his band perform songs that get you singing and dancing!

Bringing together internationally renowned Denis and Jim is sure to please any audience! Denis has taught and performed jazz, rock, blues, and gospel for television and film. Jim has also had years of diverse music experiences as a trombonist and educator.
