Perhaps it was the same one who inspired you to consider pursuing a career in education. That’s the thing about teachers: they have the potential to make life-changing impressions on their students.

The Mount offers several programs that can be combined with education courses for secondary education certification. These include:

English
French
German
Latin
Mathematics
Social Studies
Spanish

Certification to teach the visual arts in grades pre-K through 12 is also offered.

Many graduates continue their studies with a master’s program at the Mount or at other institutions; others head to the classroom and start teaching right away. Maryland’s Frederick County public school system hires more new teachers from Mount St. Mary’s than any other college.
