Education majors gain practical experience through extensive on-site teaching opportunities in Professional Development School (PDS) sites. The Mount enjoys a PDS partnership with Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland. This partnership means you will be closely monitored and guided as you undertake your field-based student teaching.

In addition to field experiences, Mount education majors take part in extracurricular projects and field trips with local schools as well as community projects such as tutoring children. The Education Club is active on campus, as is the Pi Lambda Theta International Education Honor Society, Gamma Tau Chapter.
