This interdisciplinary program is the most challenging of the science majors and is excellent preparation for a career in the health professions or genetic engineering.

Graduate programs and employers today seek those who possess technical skills of inquiry as well as an ability to see the big picture and understand ethical and moral implications. The Mount’s hands-on approach and liberal arts curriculum offer the perfect preparation.

Our science department boasts some of the best teachers and scientists you’ll find anywhere. And they support their teaching with scholarly research, which students have the opportunity to experience firsthand.

Graduate assistants do not teach class here—a benefit you won’t find at larger universities. You’ll get the hands-on experience—and laboratory time—other students have to fight for. Plus, you’ll start using our state-of-the-art facilities and resources right away.

Our graduates have a long, established track record in medical school, other health-related professional programs, research and education. They’re known for their abilities in scientific research and inquiry and their understanding of ethical and moral issues that concern our society.
