Archives

Mount St. Mary’s University is pleased to announce plans for establishing the Rhoads Archives named for donors Paul B. Rhoads, Jr. C’40 and Charles G. Rhoads. The campus Archives and Special Collections, previously located on the east campus near the arena in the “old green farmhouse”, is now closed until a new permanent facility is created.

Established in 1808 Mount St. Mary’s University takes pride in over 200 years of illustrious history.  Archives and Special Collections serve as a repository and a resource for information, not solely on the university and seminary, its heritage and people, but on the history of the Catholic Church in America and within Maryland. Collections include approximately 10,000 rare books, 40,000 manuscripts, 90,000 photographs and 400 feet of archival records, as well as artwork, artifacts, textiles, scrapbooks and other audiovisual records.

Inquiries cannot be accepted at this time.
