Learning Services Employment Opportunities
Interested in working for Learning Services?
There are several different types of student employment within Learning Services, and we welcome all interested applicants to contact us regarding the position that may be the best fit for them! Below you will find information regarding two of our major types of student employees: Laptop Note-Takers and Peer Tutors. These two positions are hired regularly and on an as needed basis, and successful applicants must meet certain requirements and have the needed skill sets. We are frequently in need of qualified applicants in both positions, so please apply at any time of the academic year if you feel that you are qualified!
Laptop Note-Taker: Students in this position attend assigned courses (in addition to their own courses) and type thorough, transcript-like notes for each class meeting. These notes are then provided to eligible students with disabilities for use in that course. Click here for the Laptop Note-Taker Application.
Peer Tutor: Students in this position meet regularly with assigned tutees and provide content-specific tutoring in their approved courses. For more information on the Peer Tutor position, click here.
If you are interested in working within the Learning Services office (i.e. Desk Assistant, Proctor, Office Assistant), these positions are hired at the start of each semester when there is an open position. Please contact Learning Services directly (301-447-5006) if you are interested in one of these positions.
