Applications & Awards
Application to the Honors Program through this site is only for current students. If you are a prospective student seeking admission to Mount St. Mary's University, you will be invited to join the honors program through the Admissions Office (if your high school GPA is 3.5 and your SAT score is 1150 or above).
Application Requirements
Current students who are rising sophomores or rising juniors may apply to the Honors Program during spring semesters of freshman or sophomore years.
To apply to the Honors Program you must have, and maintain, a minimum GPA of 3.4. The Director verifies the GPA once for admission to the program and then again at the end of each spring semester.
The following must be submitted to Dr. Caroline Eick, Director of the Honors Program, by Friday of 3rd week in February.
The application form below, including a short essay.
A current unofficial transcript. You can obtain the transcript from your portal account and submit it via email to the Director of Honors Program.
Two letters of recommendation from faculty members. Ask each faculty member to describe your academic achievements, your citizenship on campus, and your leadership potential and email the letter directly to the Director of Honors Program.
All applications will be reviewed and decisions will be communicated by mid-March at the latest, allowing students to sign up for honors classes during advising week.
