What secrets to aging, cancer and other conditions are locked inside the human genetic blueprint? What will our environment be like in 20 years ... 50 years?

So many of the issues facing us today require an interdisciplinary approach led by those with fundamental scientific knowledge, strong analytical skills and a curious spirit. Precisely the education and qualities fostered at the Mount.

Our science department boasts some of the best teachers and scientists you’ll find anywhere. And they support their teaching with scholarly research, which students have the opportunity to experience firsthand.

Graduate assistants do not teach class here—a benefit you won’t find at larger universities. You’ll get the hands-on experience—and laboratory time—other students have to fight for. Plus, you’ll start using our state-of-the-art facilities and resources right away.

Our graduates have a long, established track record in medical school, other health-related professional programs, research and education. They’re known for their abilities in scientific research and inquiry and their understanding of ethical and moral issues that concern our society.
