Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program Announced

Mount St. Mary's University logisticsEmmitsburg, Maryland - Mount St. Mary’s University announces the Maryland Higher Education Commission approved the new graduate certificate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management for the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business.

The new program is a tribute to the late Richard J. Bolte, Sr. who was the founder of BDP International, a global logistics and transportation company.  The Bolte School of Business is proud to establish a new academic focus on preparing professionals for the growing field of logistics.

“Professionals in the field of logistics are in high demand, and we are excited to respond to the changing market with a relevant and timely program," says Dr. Karl W. Einolf, Dean of the Richard J. Bolte Sr. School of Business.

Classes in the new graduate certificate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will begin this fall.  The program addresses the complex challenges and the specialized knowledge required to prepare finished products for sale and to distribute finished products from the point of acquisition.  Students in the certificate program will develop cross-functional team skills that emphasize cost analysis, e-business, logistics network modeling, and information management. Salaries for recent graduates in logistics programs are expected to increase by 83% in the next five years, and rank near the top among business major fields.

The certificate program is run in a cohort, and consists of five graduate classes. The five courses (15 academic credits) may be applied toward an MBA degree, if desired. The classes are held at the University’s Frederick Campus, and are offered in an accelerated format. Students attend one night a week for each 8-week session from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

The graduate certificate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, endorsed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, is the third certificate program offered by the Bolte School of Business.  For more information, contact Deb Powell, Director of Graduate and Adult Business Programs at or visit
