The Future of the Catholic Church in America - A presentation

Emmitsburg, Maryland – Mount St. Mary’s University welcomes prize-winning Senior Vatican Analyst for CNN and National Catholic Register Senior Correspondent, John L. Allen Jr., to discuss The Future of the Catholic Church in America.

Mr. Allen is the author of seven best-selling books on the Vatican and Catholic affairs and writes frequently on the Church for major national and international publications.

The London Tablet has called Allen “the most authoritative writer on Vatican affairs in the English language,” and renowned papal biographer George Weigel has called him “the best Anglophone Vatican reporter ever.” Veteran religion writer Kenneth Woodward of Newsweek described Allen as “the journalist other reporters – and not a few cardinals – look to for the inside story on how all the pope’s men direct the world’s largest church.”  Allen’s most recent book is People of Hope, an extended interview with Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York

The presentation, sponsored by the Mount St. Mary's Seminary is free and open to the public and will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mount's Knott Auditorium.
