The Mount Awarded for Leadership, Contribution and Support
Emmitsburg, Maryland - Three members of the Mount St. Mary’s University family received state-wide recognition for their contributions to higher education in Maryland. The winners of the awards were announced during the Maryland College Personnel Association’s Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland in October.
Matthew Mastromatteo ’13 - Mount Ambassador Coordinator in the Office of Admissions and Resident Assistant, received the Outstanding Student Leader Award for his exceptional leadership on campus. This award recognizes creativity, integrity, innovative thought, and an ability to collaborate with other student leaders, faculty, and staff through programming or governance in an effort to improve the social, psychological, and/or academic well-being of the campus community.
Mary Catherine James - Senior Associate Director & Transfer Coordinator in the Office of Admissions received the Dedication to Professional Service Award in recognition for her significant contributions and service. Mary Catherine has made considerable efforts to impact change in student affairs practices in the state of Maryland through her work, mentorship, scholarship, research, consultation, presentations, and/or other involvements and participation.
Jill Raber - Administrative Assistant, received the Outstanding Support Staff Professional Award for her administrative role supporting the work of college student educators. This award acknowledges Jill for going above and beyond expectations to support students and higher education professionals.
The MCPA is a state division of the American College Personnel Association and designed to provide leadership to the student personnel profession through teaching, counseling, research, and commitment to productive change in college student personnel practices.
