Internships and Research Opportunities

Environmental Science Experiential Component

The environmental science major is unique among the majors in the science department in that it requires an experiential component. This requirement can be fulfilled by completing an internshipundergraduate research

project or an independent study. This experience has several benefits. It provides

  • hands-on experience in environmental science

  • a chance to explore career plans

  • opportunities to make professional contacts in the field

  • application of classroom learning to real-world environmental problems
