School of Natural Science and Mathematics
Department of Math and Computer Science
The Mount’s math and computer science department offers a wide variety of courses, with small classes and many opportunities to work one-on-one with faculty. In math, courses cover areas from applied to theoretical mathematics; mathematical modeling is a particular strength. A yearlong study of probability and statistics is also available.
A broad overview of both theory and application will help you develop the ability to reason logically, express yourself with precision and apply appropriate problem-solving techniques. Whether you decide to go to graduate school or straight into the workforce, the Mount will provide you with the raw skills and expertise.
If you fulfill education requirements, you can also be certified to teach mathematics in secondary schools.
