Senior elementary education major Catherine E. Sheehy presented at the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

Catie’s presentation was based on her senior honors project titled Implementation of RTI and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students with Specific Learning Disabilities.

The Criminal Justice Student Association and Student Veterns Association hosted its annual Purple Heart Car Show on June 2.  The event helps to support the injured men and women of the military and law enforcement. Professor Joseph Vince, Jr. is advisor for both groups. 

MAT2012Graduates
The School of Education and Human Services hosted its annual reception for the Class of 2012 graduates and their families on May 11th. The School graduated 28 individuals with Criminal Justice majors, 9 with Sociology majors, and 47 with education majors.  In addition,  6 completed the Master of Education program, and 25 completed the Master of Arts in Teaching degree.  Pictured are some of the Master of Arts in Teaching graduates.

The School of Education and Human Services hosted a reception for graduates and their families on May 11th.  The School graduated 28 individuals with Criminal Justice majors, 9 with Sociology majors, and 47 with education majors.  In addition, 6 completed the Master of Education program, and 25 completed the Master of Arts in Teaching degree.  Dean Palmer led a toast to the graduates and their families and a toast to the Mount. 

Dr. Virginia McGovern with APS studentsAlpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society, and Alpha Kappa Delta, the Sociology Honor Society held their annual induction dinner on March 27. Alpha Phi Sigma promotes critical thinking, rigorous scholarship, and life-long learning, and is moderated by Dr. Virginia McGovern. Alpha Kappa Delta encourages and rewards outstanding students of sociology and promotes intellectual and social activities, which improve that human condition. Dr. Marty Malone is the moderator.
