Sport Management Major and Minor


You don’t have to be a world-class athlete to be part of the sports world. Explore the business and management aspects of sports with specialized courses in management, sport law, ethics and marketing.

Sport Management Major

A Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management requires 45 credit hours. Majors must take the core courses:

  • BUS 250, 304, 307, 313, 327, 329, 335, 360 440, and 441

  • ACCT 101

  • ECON 101 and 102

  • 1 sport management elective

  • Sport industry internship (BUS 480)

Students may choose from the following electives:

  • HIST 265

  • SOC 211

  • PSYCH 320

  • COMM 326

  • BUS 328, 333, 336, 395, 424, or 450

Sport Management Minor

The minor in sport management requires 18 credit hours of sport management courses. These credits must include:

  • BUS 327, 329, and 335

  • 3 sport management electives (Business majors may take either BUS 301 or BUS 335 and choose one additional.)

Students may choose from the following electives:

  • HIST 265

  • SOC 211

  • PSYCH 320

  • COMM 326

  • BUS 328, 333, 336, 395, 424, or 450
