Beyond the Classroom
Apply your knowledge through research or an internship. Through senior honors projects, Mount accounting students have worked with faculty mentors to research topics such as the effects of the Sarbanes-Oxley act on public accounting and Google’s IPO. Regional and national employers regularly host Mount students as interns, and many opportunities are available in the nearby Frederick business community, Maryland’s fastest growing area.
In addition, develop your leadership skills and professional connections through several department-sponsored societies and clubs. All have active programs of outside speakers, career nights, social activities and service projects. Campus opportunities include
- Accounting Club
- Delta Mu Delta national business honor society, Beta Pi Chapter
- Economics Club
- Fed Challenge
- Finance Club
- Management Club
- Marketing Club
- Sport Management Club
