Women and Men Business Leader's Network (WAM)
WAM welcomes you! We are a student organization, building leadership and team activities with your professional growth and development in mind. This past year's events included an alumni panel discussing networking and mentoring, interviewing techniques and job searching; a charity "fun-run" with Mother Seton School; and a group reading and discussion of a leadership development text. Along with these activities, e-Portfolios are being developed for presentations of students' work.
Women and Men’s (WAM) Business Leaders Network, founded upon the university’s four guiding principles of faith, discovery, leadership, and community, develops socially responsible business leaders of the future. The Business Leaders Network, grounded in the concepts of corporate social responsibility and leadership development, builds the potential of Mount St. Mary’s students and young alumni through exploration, analysis, and participation in a variety of contemporary topics and activities. Major outcomes include knowledge building, personal development, and professional networking.
The structure of the Network includes three types of activities: a) Women Connect, b) Men Connect, and c) General Activities. General activities are inclusive for all. Women Connect involves women related business topics and activities. Men Connect involves men related business topics and activities.
Students participate in a service project as well. The organization combines fun, leader development, and effective team-building skills while looking at compelling organizational issues of today.
