Internships

An internship program allows students to explore professional options, gain practical experience by working in their chosen field, and network and make contacts. The School encourages its students to seek internship opportunities to extend their classroom learning and to enhance their attractiveness to prospective employees. Many such opportunities are available through our Mount Career Center; students are also encouraged to seek their own opportunities.

All students are assigned a faculty advisor to assist in setting objectives, monitor their progress, maximize learning opportunities and provide a proper evaluation of the experience. Qualified students receive academic credit for internships. Internships may be full- or part time, last a semester or summer, and may be nonpaying.

Questions about the School's policies and guidelines for internships should be directed to Dr. Rick C. Brocato. The Richard J. Bolte School, Sr. of Business has established a formal internship agreement for its economics majors and finance concentration students with the Frederick, Md., office of Merrill Lynch, Inc. Interested students should contact Dr. William G. Forgang.

The Career Center maintains an extensive list of internships online. Students are encouraged to contact the Career Center for assistance in identifying appropriate opportunities. All internships for credit are processed through the Career Center.
