MHA Admissions Requirements and Application

Ready to Apply?
Candidates for admission into the MHA program should have completed a baccalaureate degree from accredited institution and must satisfy at least one of the following criteria:
An undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher or
Two full years of relevant working experience (Resume required) or
500 minimum score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Applicants who have a baccalaureate degree but who do not meet the minimum grade point average or years of experience or GMAT who show promise as a graduate student may be awarded this status. It permits the student to earn up to nine Master of Health Administration graduate credits and gain regular admission upon earning a grade of B or better in each of the first three courses.
Prerequisite competence in accounting I and II, and microeconomics is required for courses MHA 505, Healthcare Accounting and Financial Management and MHA 506, Economics for Healthcare Managers. This requirement may be satisfied by documentation of undergraduate study, application of applied knowledge, or completion of mini courses (available through the Bolte School of Business) in these two disciplines.
Applications for admission are accepted year-round and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please plan to apply no later than six weeks before the date you wish to begin classes. Late applications are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Attach current resume or brief statement, in essay form, describing your professional experience and career objectives.
Include application fee of $35 (non refundable); make checks payable to Mount St. Mary's University.
Request copies of official transcripts from all schools attended after high school. Official copies should be sent directly to the Bolte School of Business Office.
If GMAT is required, submit copy of test scores. Arrange to have official scores sent directly to the Bolte School of Business Office.
International Graduate Students
International students are welcome to apply to the MHA program at the Mount, but must maintain a full-time graduate course load. Although the MHA is a part-time program, international students are required to take a minimum of 9 credits in the fall and spring semesters, usually an additional an additional MBA course.
In addition to other requirements listed for admission to the MHA program, International Students must also submit:
Evidence of English language skills necessary for study at the graduate level. All non-US citizen applicants must achieve a score of 83 (web-based test) or 213 (computer-based) on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Please submit copies of scores with your application and have official results sent directly from the testing agency.
Certified copies in English translation from World Education Services (www.wes.org) of university/college, secondary-level courses and grades, state or national examination results, and the appropriate diploma or certificate received in secondary school for education completed outside the United States.
Upon acceptance, international students must submit:
a copy of their passport (information page and visa page, if have one already)
an affidavit of financial support
