Dr. Kirk Davidson, Morrison Professor of International Studies, Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business is heading to China and India this fall to continue his research and explore further the nature and status of corporate social responsibility in China and India.
Dr. Davidson: "For some reason there has been very little such exploration here in the United States, in Canada, or in Western Europe. That is surprising, given how important both countries have become to the global economic picture. I will spend part of the fall semester in California where I plan to work with the University of Santa Clara and also at the Monterey Institute for International Studies. Then I will visit China and India where I will be working with a prolific author on corporate social responsibility outside Delhi, C. V. Baxi. In China I will be working with English-speaking scholars at Peking University and Tsinghua University in Beijing and with Lu Xiaohe at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences in Shanghai. I will also be attending a conference in Melbourne, Australia, on corporate social responsibility in the eastern hemisphere.
