Spanish Honor Societies
Sigma Delta Pi
The University invites membership in Sigma Delta Pi, the National Spanish Honor Society. The Society recognizes outstanding scholarship in the Spanish language and its literature, seeks to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the Spanish-speaking world, and to stimulate and encourage Spanish cultural activities. Undergraduates may be nominated for membership in recognition of their academic achievement in at least one semester of upper division Spanish, with a minimum of GPA of 3.0 in Spanish and 2.8 overall. Alpha Mu Gamma
Students of Spanish may also apply for membership in Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Foreign Language Honor Society. Students are admitted into the society by achieving the grade of A in two three-credit Spanish courses at the intermediate college level or above and an overall GPA of 3.0.
