College of Liberal Arts
French
The department offers a major and minor in French. Students may also become certified to teach French. The department highly encourages majors in international studies, business, political science, history or English to consider a double major or minor in French. A student may
develop a specialization in sub-Saharan, North African or Caribbean literature by taking designated courses in French and other non-Western approved courses in other departments. See the interdisciplinary minor in Non-Western Studies. Click here for the suggested four-year course
sequence for the French major. Click here for requirements for the major and minor.
