You've probably heard someone say, "Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it."

The Mount's History Department will make sure you learn about the accomplishments and mistakes that shaped our nation, world and ultimately our lives.  Our faculty believes those who are interested in history should actually be trained to 'do' history -- to function as historians, to become critical readers,writers and thinkers.  So you won't just read about things that happened long ago, you'll analyze and experience them, both in and outside of the classroom, and learn how to apply them to the future.
