The Lynne & Joseph Horning Theater
The Delaplaine Fine Arts Center, formerly known as Flynn Hall, has been home to the performing arts ever since the very first performances at the Mount. The Lynne and Joseph Horning Theater is a remarkable black-box venue and provides production capabilities that are at the forefront of theater technology. The recent renovation has added features such as:
Modular risers that allow for proscenium, thrust, tennis court, and arena configuration with clear sight lines.
Plush seating for 148 patrons in the proscenium configuration and a minimum of 200 in the arena configuration.
Pipe grid capable of hanging our 158 new lighting instruments in any configuration
ETC Ion lighting console
Integrated house sound system featuring multiple mixing positions for the Allen and Heath GL2000 console, moveable speakers, multiple tie-ins for video and audio, as well as an intercom system.
Main stage traveler and new draperies
Handicap seating and elevator access
Dressing rooms and a central makeup room
Costume and prop storage
Dedicated backstage production shop
Loading dock and materials lift
Portable rigging system & 8 motorized chain lifts
Masonite dance floor with neoprene underlay
All of this helps to give this once humble black-box an impressive punch in an infinitely customizable package. Witness this in person at one of the upcoming performances, or schedule a tour with our Admissions Office.
