Lambda Iota Tau National Honor Society for Literature

Membership in the National Literary Honor Society is open to students who meet the following criteria:

1. Be at least a first semester junior.

2. Have at least 18 credits in literature courses. The following courses may be counted—but are not required: CVEN 102 and/or CVEN 201, American  Experience II, ENGL 100–115, ENGL 261/262, and any 300-level literature courses.

3. Have an overall GPA of at least 3.0

4. Submit an essay on a literary topic of at least 6 pages (an essay written for a course will suffice).

5. Pay the $40 initiation fee. This covers transaction costs and a certificate suitable for framing which is given out at the Honors Convocation in April.  Make check payable to Mount St. Mary’s University.
